Rowan University is accepting applications for the position ofClinical Instructor in the Respiratory Therapy Program. Offeringentry-level and degree-advancement programs leading to the Bachelorof Science in Respiratory Therapy, the Rowan University RespiratoryTherapy program is located in the new Health Sciences Center on thecampus of Rowan College of Jersey in Sewell, NJ. The entry-leveland degree-advancement baccalaureate programs hold provisionalaccreditation by the Council on Accreditation for Respiratory Care(CoARC).
The Respiratory Therapy program at Rowan is administratively housedwithin the Rowan-Salva School of Nursing & Health Professions.Clinical Instructors for the program will lead groups of 6 juniorrespiratory therapy students in various clinical settings with theoverall goal of developing and strengthening each student’scognitive, psychomotor, and affective clinical skills. Clinicalinstructors will be responsible for signing off proceduralcompetencies, and evaluation of overall affective clinicalperformance in a variety of settings.
RU-BSRT clinical instructors will pioneer a new model for clinicalpreceptors as they function in the role of mentor, instructor,advisor, and clinical expert. The overall goal for the instructoris to work with students to coordinate the daily assignments withthe RT department to maximize delivery of safe and effectivepatient care during each clinical rotation. The instructor willremain a solid and involved resource and continue to direct thestudent's growth for the entire clinical experience.

The physical demands described below are representative of thosenecessary to fulfill the essential functions of the job.Instruction in use of equipment and activities associated withpatient care replicates the clinical setting and requires physicalcapacity comparable to that of a practicing respiratory therapistbased on the O*NET summary of work activities.
