Job summary

Providence Swedish is seeking a Clinical Informatics Specialist to support quality and value of care by writing queries and creating reports for clinical process and population health measures. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, information technology, health informatics, public health, or related subject.
  • Epic Certification and proficiency in reporting tools within 1 year of hire.
  • 3 years of progressive experience in healthcare operations, decision support tools or management of complex databases and analytics.
  • Proven experience creating, managing, and validating large data sets.
  • Master's degree in related subject (preferred).
  • 3 years of recent SQL programming: Snowflake, SQL Server, Data Warehouse design, Oracle SQL.
  • Experience with reporting data out of Epic Clarity and/or Chronicles databases.
  • Experience with Tableau and Power BI data visualization software.
  • Experience with statistical analysis methodologies, modeling, and hypothesis testing.

Description

This is a remote role.

The Clinical Informatics Specialist role supports Swedish Health Services' goals by writing queries and creating reports that allow us to improve the quality and value of care that we deliver to our patients. This role provides analytic support to measure clinical process and outcome measures related to disease, clinical processes, care pathways and population health. The ideal candidate is passionate about data and its ability to tell stories and answer questions that are meaningful for providers and patients.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, statistics, information technology, health informatics, public health, or related subject

  • Within 1 year of hire: Epic Certification and proficiency in reporting tools (must be maintained while employed)

  • 3 years of progressive experience in healthcare operations, decision support tools or management of complex databases and analytics

  • Proven experience creating, managing, and validating large data sets

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree computer science, mathematics, statistics, information technology, health informatics, public health, or related subject

  • 3 years of recent SQL programming: skills should include some combination of: Snowflake, SQL Server 2012, Data Warehouse design, Oracle SQL

  • Experience with reporting data out of Epic Clarity and/or Chronicles databases

  • Experience with Tableau and Power BI data visualization software

  • Experience and familiarity with statistical analysis methodologies, modeling, and hypothesis testing

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
