Job summary

Children’s National Hospital in Washington, DC seeks an Attending physician in the Bone and Marrow Transplant division to provide clinical care in hospital and clinics, with advocacy and educational initiatives as determined by the Division Chief. This role emphasizes teamwork, ethical practice, and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services for patients at Children’s National Hospital and approved sites; allocate 90% of effort to clinical activities and 10% to non-clinical activities.
• Provide oversight of the medical care team and manage direct patient care; improve continuity of care and partnerships with community providers.
• Participate in family-centered care and communicate professionally; refer patients to specialists and ancillary services as appropriate.
• Respond to team members and outside providers promptly; communicate expectations to trainees and encourage questions.
• Participate in advocacy, education, and policies to enhance pediatric health and well-being.

Evaluate patient care according to adopted protocol and Quality Assurance program criteria. Participate in evaluation of peers and support staff; acknowledge and report medical and/or other errors as well as participate in efforts to prevent them.The disclosed salary range includes the minimum and maximum rates within which Children’s National believes an individual’s base pay rate will fall for this position. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the maximum of the pay range. The exact pay rate for this position will be based on a variety of factors in alignment with the Children’s National compensation philosophy.
