Qualifications

• Active ABGC Candidate Status to sit for the National Examination; must obtain certification within 2 years of hire.
• Active Virginia Genetics Counselor license.
• Masters of Science in Genetic Counseling from an ABGC-certified program.

Responsibilities

• Provide genetic counseling to patients referred for clinical genetic services.
• Coordinate dissemination of genetic information to physicians, laboratories, other counselors and staff.
• Coordinate dissemination of clinical genetic information to patients and the community.
• Participate in education and training of genetic counseling students and other learners in the VCU School of Medicine.
