Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Foodservice Worker to perform routine tasks in the hospital foodservice area, including preparation, packaging, and service. You will read patient meal tickets and ensure proper labeling and dating, while maintaining sanitation standards in a clinical setting.

This role requires weekend and holiday rotation and prior experience in food prep, serving, cleaning, and customer service. A sign-on bonus up to $2,500 is offered for new hires.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Prior experience in food prep, serving, cleaning or customer service.
• Ability to read and interpret patient meal tickets, identifiers, recipes and labels.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks in the foodservice area as assigned.
• Assist with food preparation, packaging and deliveries as needed.
• Clean and sanitize food service areas per policy and regulations.
• Take and record temperatures of food and storage areas.
• Place trays on warmers or store refrigerated items.
• Weigh or measure ingredients.
• Receive and store supplies in appropriate storage areas.
• Read patient meal tickets and confirm identifiers and dating.
