Job summary

Henry Ford Health seeks an experienced clinician to implement and supervise physical exercise programs for patients. The role includes testing and assessing patients before and after rehabilitation, planning and teaching exercise therapy, and monitoring responses to adjust plans as needed.

Responsibilities also include ensuring equipment maintenance, managing records, and providing community education. BLS within 30 days and Michigan Athletic Trainer credential strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Athletic Trainer credentialed from the Michigan Board preferred.
• Certifications in Personal Training, Sports Medicine, and Strength & Conditioning preferred.
• Exercise Physiologist credentialed from ACSM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient testing and assessment before and after rehabilitation.
• Plans and teaches exercise therapy for patients using test data, status and meds.
• Monitors patient responses; revises plan as needed.
• Identifies contraindications and abnormal responses; responds to events and refers to medical professionals.
• Delivers exercise information to patients, peers, and the community; may include public speaking.
• Ensures department equipment is maintained, calibrated, and functioning; handles records and scheduling.
• Provides department oversight in the absence of the manager.
