Job summary

Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles is seeking a Clinical Exercise Physiologist to support the S. Mark Taper Foundation Imaging Center's cardiac imaging program. You will assist with stress testing, monitor EKGs, and help ensure accurate data collection for interpretation.

We welcome new grads and experienced clinicians. A Master's degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science is required, with BLS and ACLS (preferred or within one year). Join a team recognized for excellence in patient care.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science (required).
• BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross required.
• ACLS certification preferred or willing to obtain within one year of start date.
• 1 year of Clinical Exercise Physiology experience preferred; new grads welcome.

Responsibilities

• Assist in cardiac stress testing, including EKG monitoring and preliminary interpretation.
• Perform treadmill, bicycle, and pharmacological stress testing with EKG prep and BP measurements.
• Recognize and respond to serious arrhythmias and ST-segment abnormalities.
• Assist Technologist, Nurse Practitioner, and/or Physician during cardiac stress testing.
• Identify safety concerns in age-related populations and ensure a safe environment.
• Serve as a preceptor for students and new hires.

The S. Mark Taper Foundation Imaging Center has one of the country's most respected Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging programs offering the full range of nuclear and molecular imaging studies.

Summary of Essential Duties

• Assists in the performance of cardiac stress testing, including EKG monitoring for stress, performing preliminary interpretation to both rest and stress electrocardiograms, and performing quality control of all data associated with stress testing and submission of results for final interpretation.
• Performs treadmill, bicycle, and pharmacological stress testing including EKG preparation and obtaining accurate blood pressures.
• Demonstrates ability to recognize serious arrhythmias and ST segment abnormalities and responds with appropriate action.
• Assists the Technologist, Nurse Practitioner, and/or Physician during cardiac stress testing.
• Identifies safety concerns in the age-related population, and institutes measures to provide a safe environment.
• Serves as a preceptor for students and new hires.

Education:

• Master's Degree in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science required

License/Certifications:

• BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
• ACLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross preferred or willing to obtain within one year from start date

Experience:

• 1 year of Clinical Exercise Physiology experience preferred
