Job summary

MedStar Health is seeking a Clinical Engineer Technician II Ambulatory to maintain and troubleshoot biomedical devices across ambulatory and outpatient settings. You will perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair, and document all work in CMMS to ensure reliable performance and safety.

You will collaborate with clinical staff, support new technology rollouts, and train users while ensuring compliance with Joint Commission and FDA standards within a leading regional health system.

Qualifications

  • Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) preferred.
  • AAMI certification or equivalent desirable.
  • OEM equipment training certifications a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair of ambulatory clinical and biomedical equipment.
  • Troubleshoot complex equipment failures and coordinate vendor service when needed.
  • Document all work in the CMMS accurately and timely.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical safety, infection control, and regulatory standards for medical devices.
  • Support installation, setup, and acceptance testing of new equipment in ambulatory clinics.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime.
  • Provide basic user training and guidance on proper operation and care of equipment.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to urgent service requests as assigned.

As a Clinical Engineer Technician II Ambulatory at MedStar Health, you will support safe, reliable operation of clinical equipment across ambulatory and outpatient settings. You will perform advanced troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on biomedical devices, document work in CMMS, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.   • Perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and repair of ambulatory clinical and biomedical equipment
