Job summary

St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, KY, is hiring a Clinical Engineer Tech I to join the Edgewood Clinical Engineering Team. This is a full-time, first-shift role with 40 hours per week and on-site work.

You will perform timely maintenance and testing of diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, ensure safety and reliability, and collaborate with medical staff to resolve issues and improve patient care. Training provided as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma is required or in progress.
  • Enrollment in an accredited program for an associate degree in Biomedical Engineering Technology with 24 months to complete.
  • Other related degrees may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on clinical equipment used for diagnostics and therapy.
  • Develop testing procedures and test new devices and equipment.
  • Document service events in the CE database and maintain manuals.

Job Summary:

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Clinical Engineer Tech I to join our Edgewood Clinical Engineering Team.

Shift/Hours: Full Time 40 Hours, First Shift

Responsible for providing quality, timely, and cost-effective service of clinical equipment used for both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. Ensure medical equipment and instrumentation used for patient care is safe, reliable, and effective.

  • Perform timely corrective and preventative maintenance and quality assurance testing on clinical equipment used for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.Evaluate equipment problems to engage appropriate staff to resolve mechanical problem(s).
  • Develop and implement equipment testing procedures. Test new devices and equipment.
  • Document service events in the C.E. database and maintain service manuals in accordance with the Medical Equipment Management Plan.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to address non-routine and routine technical problems. Ensures compliance with regulatory agency standards for clinical, diagnostic and therapeutic equipment to promote a safe and functional patient care environment.
  • Work with independent contractors in the installation of new clinical, diagnostic, and therapeutic equipment to ensure technically controlled project.
  • Instruct clinical staff on the safety; proper operation and maintenance of patient care instruments as needed.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for Clinical Engineering Department. Responds to after hours calls related to all clinical equipment supported.
  • Understand and comply with all organizational policies and procedures and operational standards to support a safe and organized work environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education, Credentials, Licenses:
  • High School Diploma
  • Enrolled in an accredited program to earn associate degree in biomedical Engineering Technology and complete degree with 24 months of hire date.
  • Other degrees in related field.
Specialized Knowledge:
  • Electronic troubleshooting techniques
  • Computer skills
Kind and Length of Experience:
  • No experience required.
