Job summary

FUJIFILM Sonosite is seeking a Clinical Engineer with ultrasound expertise to support cardiac dataset annotations and R&D for point‑of‑care ultrasound systems. You will ensure clinical diagnostics, safety, and alignment with user needs while collaborating with a cross‑functional team.

The role requires at least 5 years as a registered cardiac sonographer and RDCS/CCI certification. A hybrid work arrangement is supported in Bothell, WA with emphasis on reliability and education.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a registered cardiac sonographer.
  • RDCS or CCI (RCS) required.
  • Strong knowledge of ultrasound physics and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in AI annotation and labeling of ultrasound image datasets with accurate clinical labels.
  • Provide clinical input to product development to ensure diagnostic safety and user needs.
  • Contribute clinical workflow input into product, system, and design requirements.
  • Engage in R&D activities to stay current on technology, trends, and workflows related to POCUS.
  • Advocate for customer user needs emphasizing Reliability, Durability, Ease of Use, and Education.
  • Refine and develop state-of-the-art POCUS technologies.
  • Develop knowledge of product development processes and project estimation.

Job Description

Essential Job Functions:

  • Participate in AI annotation and labeling activities, providing highly accurate clinical labels and annotations to ultrasound image datasets.
  • Collaborate and provide clinical input to our product development teams throughout the R&D process to ensure systems are clinically diagnostic, safe, and meet user needs.
  • Responsible for clinical workflow input into product, system, and design requirements.
  • Participate in a range of research and development activities to maintain and develop knowledge of technology, trends, clinical practices, and workflows related to POCUS.
  • Advocate for the customer’s user needs throughout development with an emphasis on Reliability, Durability, Ease of Use, and Education.
  • Use your experience to refine and develop state‑of‑the‑art technologies in the field of point‑of‑care ultrasound.
  • Develop knowledge of product development processes and project estimation skills.
  • Scan and review new features, systems, and transducers.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a registered cardiac sonographer.
  • Previous medical device industry experience preferred.
  • Previous point‑of‑care ultrasound development preferred.
  • Previous experience with POCUS clinical applications preferred.
  • RDCS, and/or CCI (RCS) required.
  • Strong knowledge of ultrasound physics and instrumentation required.
  • Strong desire to expand/grow their knowledge of ultrasound technology, workflows, and medical device development processes.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must pass quality assurance activities.
  • Strong PC and system skills, specifically in MS Office and ultrasound applications.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective planning and time management skills with a history of accountability and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a cross‑functional team in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Hybrid role: In‑office attendance required 10-20% of the time to support training, data transfer, and other development activities.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs with or without accommodations.

Salary:

  • $65.00/hr. - $75.00/hr. depending on experience (Compensation will vary based on skills, experience and location; it is not typical to be hired at or above the top of the salary range).
