Responsibilities

  • Lead educational initiatives to support ICU nursing practice and competency development.
  • Conduct learning needs assessments and identify educational gaps.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate orientation programs for new clinical staff.
  • Coordinate and facilitate simulation-based learning experiences.
  • Develop and deliver educational programs using adult learning principles.
  • Support novice nurse transition-to-practice programs and professional development initiatives.
  • Create, implement, and evaluate unit-based competencies in collaboration with nursing leadership.
  • Monitor competency completion and staff development progress.
  • Plan and deliver continuing education activities for nursing and clinical staff.
  • Develop evidence-based clinical scenarios and facilitate simulation training.
  • Serve as a resource for evidence-based practice and nursing education.
  • Participate in AHA life support programs.
  • Serve as a BLS Instructor and obtain ACLS or PALS Instructor certification as appropriate.

About the Job:

As a member of the Patient Care Services management team, the RN Clinical Educator coordinates and conducts educational activities designed to advance the knowledge, skills, and competencies of clinical staff. This role supports onboarding, competency assessment, continuing education, simulation learning, and professional development initiatives. This position will have a primary clinical focus in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), partnering closely with nursing leadership and frontline staff to support evidence-based practice, competency development, orientation programs, and specialty education for critically ill patient populations. The RN Clinical Development Educator collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to promote excellence in patient care, professional growth, and nursing practice.

What You’ll Do:
  • Lead educational initiatives that support ICU nursing practice and competency development.

Who You Are / Requirements:
Education
  • Master’s degree in Nursing required, or enrollment in a Master’s degree Nursing program within one year of hire.
  • MSN in Nursing Education preferred.
Licensure & Certifications
  • Current New Hampshire Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • ACLS or PALS certification required within 90 days of hire and maintained throughout employment.
  • Specialty certification preferred.
  • AHA BLS Instructor certification preferred at hire.
  • ACLS and/or PALS Instructor certification preferred at hire.
Experience
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressive clinical leadership, education, or professional development experience required.
  • Critical Care/ICU nursing experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and educational methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of nursing practice and evidence-based care.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities.
  • Strong presentation, organizational, and technology skills.
  • Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs.
  • Experience with simulation learning and innovative educational technologies preferred.
  • Ability to facilitate learner development and competency assessment.
