Short Description

Clinical Educator II is responsible for designing, implementing, and evaluating education and competency programs that support clinical excellence, professional growth, and organizational outcomes for nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel. Clinical Educator II ensures nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel have the skills and training to succeed in their individualized units or specialty.

• Clinical educators apply adult learning theory, theoretical frameworks, and evidence-based practice principles to design and deliver educational interventions that support clinical competence and professional practice.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates new hire orientation, ongoing competency validation, and annual competency assessments for Registered Nurses and Unlicensed Assistive Personnel in alignment with regulatory, accreditation, and organizational standards.
• Collaborates with interprofessional stakeholders to assess learning needs, address practice gaps, and support safe, effective, and evidence-based clinical practice across the organization.
• Facilitates learning experiences and practice transitions that support the professional development, competence, and retention of newly hired nurses and unlicensed assistive personnel.
• Design curricula and program outcomes while collaborating to develop and implement educational and continuing educational activities.Provides leadership, mentorship, and guidance in educational best practices to support clinical educators, preceptors, and nursing staff.
• Demonstrate strong collaboration across the organization to align educational goals with strategic and corporate goals.
• Develops, reviews, and updates evidence-based policies and clinical practice guidelines utilizing current literature.
• Serves as a change agent by supporting practice changes, quality improvement initiatives, and professional development efforts that enhance patient and workforce outcomes.
• Design, collaborate, and implement educational activities. Participate in continuing education program development.
• Engages in scholarly and professional activities that advance nursing practice and professional development, including oversight and support of the clinical ladder program.
