Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a dedicated nurse educator to support acute care and critical care inpatient units on off shifts. You will act as a resource, promote patient safety, and collaborate with Unit based Clinical Educators.

The role requires a BSN (MSN preferred), three years of clinical experience, and teaching or mentoring skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is expected, and you will help orient new staff and implement education programs.

Qualifications

• Education: BSN required, MSN preferred, professional certification in area of specialty preferred
• Experience: Three years’ clinical experience
• Other Skills: Teaching experience; Computer skills with Microsoft Products

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates clinical/technical proficiency and maintains knowledge base of hospital policies, nursing practice guidelines, and utilization of equipment in order to serve as a clinical resource and mentor to the staff.
• Collaborates with Unit based Clinical Educators to facilitate orientation and educational programs to assure compliance with hospital standards and the Nurse Practice Act as well as regulatory standards and evidence-based practice
• Communicates in a variety of settings with nursing Associates, patients, physicians, family members, and other members of the healthcare team to achieve excellence in patient care.
• Promotes patient safety through adherence to protocols, policies, procedures, evidence-based guidelines and the Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals

PURPOSE OF JOB:
