Job summary

Optum is seeking a Clinical Document Improvement Specialist (CDS) to oversee CDI program and implement CDI processes for inpatient records of Optum 360 clients' patients. The CDS collaborates with providers and healthcare team to improve documentation reflecting care, decisions, and diagnoses, using Optum CDI 3D technology to enhance data quality and revenue integrity.

The role requires 5+ years RN acute care or CDI-certified medical graduate, plus 1+ year as a clinical documentation integrity

Qualifications

• 5+ years acute care hospital clinical RN experience OR medical graduate with CDI experience and CDI certification (CCDS, CDIP).
• 1+ years experience as a clinical documentation integrity specialist.
• Reside in a commutable distance to Greenbrae, CA or willing to relocate.

Job description

The Clinical Document Improvement Specialist – (CDS) is responsible for providing CDI program oversight and day to day CDI implementation of processes related to the concurrent review of the clinical documentation in the inpatient medical record of Optum 360 clients' patients.

This position collaborates with providers and other healthcare team members to make improvements that result in accurate, comprehensive documentation that reflects completely, the clinical treatment, decisions, and diagnoses for the patient. In this position the CDS will utilizing the Optum CDI 3D technology that is assisting hospitals to improve data quality to accurately reflect the quality of care provided and ensure revenue integrity.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years acute care hospital clinical RN experience OR medical graduate with CDI experience and CDI certification (CCDS, CDIP)
• 1+ years experience as a clinical documentation integrity specialist
