You will review inpatient records, craft physician queries, and collaborate with clinicians to improve documentation quality and patient outcomes. AHIMA/ACDIS guidelines apply.

Qualifications

• 1.5+ years of full-time inpatient CDI experience (Level I/II trauma center).
• 3+ years of nursing experience (RN).
• Remote work ability and independence in a remote environment.
• Strong clinical reasoning and documentation skills.
• Associate or Bachelor degree in Nursing required.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient medical records to ensure accurate documentation.
• Develop compliant physician queries reflecting severity of illness and mortality risk.
• Collaborate with physicians, auditors, and coders to improve documentation.
• Apply ICD-10, DRG, and CDI principles for compliant reimbursement and quality outcomes.
• Maintain productivity and quality per AHIMA, ACDIS, and AHA Coding Clinic guidelines.
• Participate in ongoing education and professional development.

What You'll Do

• Review inpatient medical records to ensure accurate clinical documentation.

What We're Looking For

• 1.5+ years of full-time inpatient CDI experience (required) supporting a Level I or Level II trauma center
• 3+ years of prior clinical experience as a nurse (required)
• Strong clinical reasoning and documentation skills
• Excellent written communication and provider collaboration
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related healthcare field

Preferred (Not Required) Credentials

• CCDS
