Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (BSN) required.
• 3–5 years of related experience required.
• Current license to practice professional nursing in Ohio or reciprocal.
• CCDS or CCS certification preferred.
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze clinical documentation to determine DRG assignments.
• Guide physicians, nursing, and staff on documentation best practices.
• Complete admission reviews with principal diagnosis and severity of illness.
• Identify opportunities for documentation clarification and follow-up queries.
• Educate providers to enhance understanding of the CDI program.
• Collaborate with coding to ensure accurate DRG and coding summaries.
• Maintain HIPAA confidentiality and participate in performance improvement activities.
