Job summary

Walden Behavioral Care in Waltham, MA seeks a Clinical Director to provide strategic and operational leadership for our PHP and IOP programs, ensuring evidence-based, high-quality patient care.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, oversee staffing and budgets, and collaborate with regional/national leadership to drive clinical excellence in a full-time role. Salary $90,000-$125,000 annually.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in a clinical field (Social Work, Psychology, Counseling) with licensure or eligibility.
• Minimum 5 years leadership experience in clinical settings.
• Minimum 5 years clinical experience with psychiatric/mental health or eating disorders; 24/7 level of care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain clinical quality and integrity of PHP and IOP programs.
• Manage program staffing, selection, training, ongoing development and supervision of staff.
• Manage and maintain budgeting targets.
• Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Participate in regulatory agency reviews.
• Promote patient care aligned with Walden’s philosophy and Monte Nido objectives.
• Partner with Outreach on Strategic Marketing Plan.

At Monte Nido Walden, we have been delivering life-changing care for people with eating disorders for more than 25 years. As part of Monte Nido, a national leader in eating disorder treatment, we offer evidence-based, compassionate care across the full continuum of treatment, including inpatient, residential, partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), and virtual programs.

Our multidisciplinary teams are committed to helping children, adolescents, and adults of all genders recover from anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, ARFID, and other eating disorders. The Clinical Director provides strategic and operational leadership for our PHP and IOP programs in Waltham, MA. This role is responsible for the overall clinical, operational, financial, and programmatic success of the site while ensuring the delivery of exceptional, evidence‑based patient care.

Working closely with regional and national leadership, the Clinical Director fosters a collaborative, mission‑driven culture, supports clinical excellence, and leads a multidisciplinary team dedicated to helping patients achieve lasting recovery.

Responsibilities Include:

• Maintain clinical quality and integrity of PHP and IOP programs

• Promote patient care consistent utilizing the philosophy and objectives of Walden Behavioral Care and Monte Nido and Affiliates
• Partner with the Outreach department on community efforts as outlined in the Strategic Marketing Plan
• Clinical Case Management as needed

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree, Psy D or PhD in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field
• At least 5 years of leadership experience
• Minimum of 5 years clinical experience with a psychiatric, mental health and/or eating disorder population; 24/7 level of care strongly preferred
• Clinical supervisory and managerial experience with a budget in excess of $1M and multiple direct reports
• Experience with marketing, systems strategy, psychosocial treatment strategies, knowledge of eating disorders, age specific growth and development, limit setting, crisis and behavioral management.
• Previous experience working with commercial insurance carriers including managed care
• You must possess knowledge of team management, psychiatric group process, therapeutic relationships processes, age specific growth and development, limit setting and behavior management, crisis management with aggressive behaviors.
