What We Need You to Do

• Providegroup supervision to a diverse cohort of trainees, including practicum students and associates. Oversee 8 interns in their experience with us.
• Lead some didactic training seminars for interns and supervisors
• Recruit and overseenew supervisors and plan supervisor training
• Serve as a clinical and professional mentor, modeling reflective practice, clinical depth, and ethical care
• Collaborate with senior leadership on program administration, accreditation standards, and clinical oversight
• Ensure alignment of training goals with CIP’s mission to provide equitable and affordable services to underserved populations

What You Bring to the Table

• Licensed Psychologist (PhD or PsyD) in the state of California
• Solid foundation in psychodynamic theory and practice, with a commitment to depth-oriented psychotherapy
• Supervision experience with early-career clinicians across various levels (practicum, postdoc, associate)
• Ability to balance clinical leadership with administrative responsibilities, and navigate program logistics with clarity and care
• A collaborative spirit, appreciation for nuance, and a deep respect for the transformational process of clinical training

About Us

Community Institute for Psychotherapy (CIP) provides low-cost counseling and psychological services to individuals and families who do not have the resources to pay full fees for professional help. Fees are established on a sliding scale and based on one's ability to pay. CIP, a private non-profit, 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization, has been serving Marin since 1977.

Last year CIP provided over 6,500 hours of psychotherapy for clients from the community. A full range of psychological services are offered by CIP to adults, children, families, and couples. The primary mode of treatment is long-term psychotherapy. Other services offered by CIP include crisis intervention, brief therapy, psychological testing, relationship counseling, play therapy, career counseling, and group therapy, as well as workshops and seminars addressing topics of community concern.

CIP provides additional community outreach through special projects which include: the School Project, in which Intern-Therapists work with children and adolescents in Marin public elementary, and middleschools; and Ritter Center Program for families and individuals who have been homeless or nearly homeless; Support for Single Parents Project, which provides individual psychotherapy for single parents, and assessment and psychotherapy for children; and Adult Survivors of Childhood Abuse.
