Job summary

New Era in Louisiana is seeking a Licensed Clinical Director to oversee clinical operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and supervise staff. The role emphasizes evidence-based practice and service quality within a supportive team environment.

The candidate should have leadership experience, be patient-focused, and capable of coordinating with billing and regulatory bodies while maintaining HIPAA standards. Travel to distant locations may be required.

Qualifications

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field.
  • Active Texas supervisory license (LPC-S/LCSW-S/LMFT-S) or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years clinical experience, with 3+ in leadership/supervision.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid and behavioral health documentation standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee clinical operations as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Direct supervision of licensed and unlicensed staff, interns, and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and standards (state/federal).
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate treatment plans and documentation.
  • Conduct case reviews and ensure timely service delivery and records.
  • Lead regular clinical team meetings, case conferences, and trainings.
  • Support credentialing and ongoing staff education.
  • Coordinate with billing for accurate documentation and coding.
  • Serve as liaison with regulatory bodies, funding agencies, and partners.
  • Lead crisis intervention efforts and complex-case support.
  • Support QA processes including audits and outcome monitoring.
  • Participate in community outreach as needed.

Job description

Position Summary

The Licensed Clinical Director will oversee and manage all clinical operations, ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, supervise clinical staff, and support the implementation of evidence-based practices. This role is critical in maintaining service quality, supporting staff development, and enhancing the overall effectiveness of the agency’s clinical programming.

Candidate will also be a patient focused self-starter with the ability to work independently while still being a part of a very supportive team. This position is strongly encouraged for a clinician with targeted case management experience and established clientele is encouraged.

Major Responsibilities / Duties / Critical Tasks:
  • Oversee, direct and engage as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Provide direct supervision to licensed and unlicensed clinical staff, interns, and contractors.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with Texas behavioral health regulations, Medicaid/insurance requirements, and ethical standards of care.
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of treatment plans and clinical documentation.
  • Conduct case reviews and ensure timely documentation and service delivery.
  • Facilitate regular clinical team meetings, case conferences, and professional development trainings.
  • Support credentialing, licensure, and ongoing education of clinical staff.
  • Collaborate with administrative and billing departments to ensure accurate documentation and coding.
  • Serve as a liaison with regulatory bodies, funding agencies, and community partners.
  • Lead crisis intervention efforts and provide clinical support for complex cases as needed.
  • Support quality assurance processes including audits, incident reporting, and outcome monitoring.
  • Participate in community outreach activities to raise awareness as needed.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described, such as attending trainings and regular team meetings.
  • Use excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Participate in regular team meetings.
  • Handle confidential and/or sensitive information with discretion and adherence to HIPAA rules
  • Promote the NETCC mission, vision, and values by action
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
  • Active Texas license as an LPC-S, LCSW-S, LMFT-S, or equivalent supervisory license.
  • Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • Knowledge of Medicaid, managed care, Commercial, Private and behavioral health documentation standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in clinical software (e.g., EHR systems) and documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in outpatient and/or community-based mental health settings.
  • Experience working with diverse populations including children, adolescents, and families.
  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and other evidence-based practices.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.

This position will be In Office upon request with clinical sessions completed via telehealth or in office, and may require travel to our distant locations.
