MedStar Health is seeking a Dietitian Nutrition Services specialist to join a health-focused team. You will work with healthcare professionals to develop personalized nutrition plans and support patients on their health journeys.

The role emphasizes clinical nutrition expertise, counseling, and documentation to ensure optimal patient outcomes and preventive care through balanced eating.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Expertise in dietary software and patient documentation systems.
• Up-to-date knowledge of dietetic principles, health regulations, and best practices.
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN).
• Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) in the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia region.
• Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC), optional but preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions, and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counseling.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers and staff to provide comprehensive nutrition interventions in accordance with patients' medical programs.
• Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
• Educate and advise patients with diet-related disorders on practical ways to improve health through healthier eating habits.
• Create meal plans that are economically feasible and scientifically effective for patients.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of meal plans and change them as needed.
• Promote health and wellness through public education on diet and nutrition.
