Job summary

New York State Office of Mental Health seeks a Dietitian 2 to join a multidisciplinary treatment team. You will develop, plan, and approve diets and menus and consult with healthcare providers on diet therapy plans.

You will identify activities to improve nutritional health, provide care instructions, and ensure compliance with licensing. This role carries a Downstate Adjustment of $4,150 and strong NYS benefits.

Qualifications

• Current registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) as an RD or NYSED certification in dietetics-nutrition and have completed a minimum of 400 hours of supervised dietetics practice under the supervision of an RD.
• One year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.

Responsibilities

• Developing, planning, and approving diets and menus.
• Consulting with healthcare providers on individual diet therapy programs to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions.
• Identifying and recommending activities to improve and maintain individuals' nutritional health.
• Providing nutritional care instructions and information to individuals.

Education

Registered Dietitian (RD) or NYSED certification in dietetics-nutrition
