Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a skilled Dietitian to provide both primary and relief nutrition management on ICU and non-ICU units. You will screen, assess, plan and implement diet therapy and nutrition support modalities while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Dietetics with internship, 1–2 years clinical experience, and RD license with DC DOH.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in ADA-approved Dietetics program with internship completed.
• 1–2 years of clinical nutrition experience preferred.
• RD certification and DC DOH dietitian license required; if licensed elsewhere, DC licensure must be applied for at start date.

Responsibilities

• Provide nutrition management services including screening, assessment and care planning.
• Collaborate with medical and nursing staff; participate in rounds and nutrition in-services.
• Monitor patient progress and follow-up recommendations for nutrition care.
• Counsel patients and families on diet and nutrition corresponding to medical conditions.
• Document care in medical records and communicate with nutrition staff for continuity of care.
• Support department operations and quality assurance activities.
