Job summary

Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids, IA seeks a Clinical Dietitian II to support patient-centered care by optimizing nutrition via Medical Nutrition Therapy, education, and interdisciplinary collaboration.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Dietetics or related field and/or Specialty certification.
• Registered with the Commission of Dietetic Registration; RD or RDN licensure in Iowa.
• Iowa Mandatory Reporter training required prior to start or transfer.
• Six months of hospital experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Nutrition Care Process and ADIME charting.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs and document in the patient's medical record.
• Serve as an active member of the interdisciplinary care team.
• Provide nutritional care to patients in assigned area per policies.
• Provide nutrition information and programs in hospital or community.
• Mentor dietetic interns and provide leadership to staff.

The Clinical Dietitian II serves as an active member of the interdisciplinary team to identify clinical needs, implement interventions and provide education. The Clinical Dietitian II assumes accountability for self-development, following policies and procedures and meeting regulatory requirements.
