Job summary

Encompass Health is seeking a dedicated Dietitian to promote health through personalized nutrition plans. You will assess nutritional needs, develop dietary plans, educate on healthy eating, and guide post-discharge diets while monitoring progress in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Food & Nutrition; licensure to practice.
• Registered by the CDR (American Dietetic Association) as a credential.
• State licensure required to practice dietetics.
• Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is preferred.
• Clinical Dietetics experience of 1 year is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with and counsel patients per physician orders and diet instruction.
• Coordinate with physicians and other care disciplines in patient care.
• Evaluate referral orders to determine adequacy of nutrition intake methods.
• Document pertinent information in the patient’s medical record per standards.
• Implement nutritional care plans, adapt menus, and assist patients with special dietary needs.
• Conduct calorie counts and make appropriate recommendations.
• Review, revise, and sign off menus for nutritional adequacy.

Education

Bachelor's or advanced degree in Food & Nutrition

Registered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)

State licensure required

Membership in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics preferred

One year of Clinical Dietetics experience preferred
