Job summary

Valley Health in Front Royal, VA is seeking a Registered Dietitian I to support the Diabetes Management Program. This outpatient role places you on an interdisciplinary team, assessing nutrition risk and delivering evidence-based nutrition therapy to patients.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Nutrition/Dietetics (or a Master’s accepted by the Commission on Dietetic Registration), RD or registry-eligible within six months, and required certifications (AHA Healthcare Provider).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in Nutrition/Dietetics or Master’s accepted by the Commission on Dietetic Registration.
• 2 Years clinical experience (4,160 hours).
• Registered Dietitian or Registry eligible within six months.
• Responder Certification - American Heart ‘Healthcare Provider’ (HCP) - AHA approved required.
• West Virginia licensure or eligible, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assess nutrition risk and medically necessary needs of patients.
• Provide discipline specific interventions through the nutrition care process.
• Establish and maintain professional competence; seek continuing education.
• Respond to physician consults and participate in the interdisciplinary team.
• Document and bill per guidelines.

The Registered Dietitian I is responsible for establishing and maintaining professional competence, identifying educational needs and seeking out learning opportunities from more advanced clinicians and specific continuing education.
