Are you ready to apply your nutrition skills as a Clinical Dietitian with the Department of Human Services? This position gives you the opportunity to support patients by shaping their nutritional care plans at Clarks Summit State Hospital. You help maintain high standards of care while working closely with both medical staff and dietary teams. Your contributions play an important role in improving patient outcomes.

This position focuses on organizing and delivering nutritional care for patients, including those who require specialized diets. It involves planning menus, assessing patient needs, and supporting departmental goals to ensure high-quality nutritional services. As a Clinical Dietitian, you will perform the following duties:

• Nutritional Assessment: Complete nutritional assessments by gathering medical and dietary information and document patient progress
• Patient Collaboration: Participate in treatment team meetings to recommend appropriate nutritional plans and share updates with staff
• Menu Planning: Plan, evaluate, and adjust menus while ensuring diet calculations follow accepted nutritional standards
• Database Management: Maintain and update the patient diet database to ensure accuracy and timely changes
• Staff Guidance: Provide direction to dietetic staff to support consistent and accurate nutritional care
• Program Participation: Contribute to performance improvement efforts and assist in reviewing departmental policies

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Your schedule may change based on operational needs.
• Overtime and travel: As needed
• Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

Special Requirements:

• This position requires active certification as a Registered Dietitian (RD) or a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) as issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, or proof of eligibility for such certification.
