Job summary

Jefferson Regional Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, is seeking a Clinical Nutrition Specialist to provide inpatient nutrition care, assessments, and education for hospitalized patients. You will oversee diet orders, contribute to discharges, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

The role requires a Registered Dietitian with acute-care experience, strong documentation, and the ability to educate staff on therapeutic diets and food allergens.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or a related field.
• Registered Dietitian (RD) with licensure as required.
• Prior acute-care experience preferred.
• Strong documentation, patient education, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in survey process: guide staff on conduct and disclosure, coordinate information requests, and initiate corrective action during surveys.
• Conduct initial nutrition assessments and reassessments for all admitted patients; prioritize high-risk referrals.
• Ensure complete and timely documentation (assessments, care plans, education, discharge planning).
• Provide oversight of the menu management process to align offerings with therapeutic diets.
• Educate managers and staff on therapeutic diets and allergen management; act as a resource.
