The clinical dietitian is responsible for the nutritional care of in‑patients and out‑patients. Duties include assessment of nutrition status, development of care plans, follow‑up, education, and nutrition‑related order‑writing privileges. The Clinical Dietitian assures appropriate and continual care of patients through verbal communication with members of the health care team as well as written documentation in the medical record. Care provided is tailored to patient needs including learning needs, age‑specific considerations and cultural/religious considerations.
