Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Perform nutrition assessments and tailor patient nutrition care plans.

Location: Saint John Hospital - Leavenworth, KS

We are seeking a Clinical Dietitian, also referred to as a Registered Dietitian. The Registered Dietitian (RD) in our hospital designs and implements nutrition care plans for patients, tailoring diets to medical needs. Clinical Dietitians assess nutritional status, monitor progress, educate patients and families, collaborate with healthcare teams, and ensure dietary staff prepares meals that meet safety and health standards. The Registered Dietitian’s goal is to improve patient outcomes through effective nutrition management.

Responsibilities

• Nutrition assessment: evaluate patients' dietary needs based on medical conditions, lab results, and health history
• Develop meal plans: create individualized nutrition plans to support recovery, manage chronic diseases, or address specific conditions like diabetes, heart disease, or malnutrition
• Track patients’ progress, adjust meal plans as needed, and ensure nutritional goals are met
• Work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to integrate nutrition into patient care plans
• Educate patients and their families about proper nutrition education, special diets, or post-discharge meal planning
• Ensure meals prepared by the dietary staff align with prescribed diets and safety standards

Qualifications
