Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in the United States seeks a Medical Director to provide Clinical Development leadership for the PF 4404 program, overseeing design, conduct, and analysis of trials while coordinating with regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, biostatistics, and medical affairs.

You will support clinical operations, investigators, and external stakeholders to uphold scientific, ethical, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Primary medical degree and 4+ years of experience.
• Licensed to prescribe medicines independently for at least 2 years.
• Board certified/eligible in oncology (or equivalent) preferred.
• Late-stage clinical development experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership across 2–3 study teams aligned to company objectives.
• Conduct medical monitoring (eligibility assessment, data review, safety monitoring).
• Lead peer-to-peer interactions with investigators.
• Serve as point of contact for clinical issues between study team, investigators, ethics/steering committees, and regulatory authorities.
• Lead and contribute to development and maintenance of clinical trial and regulatory documents with cross-functional team.
• Review and interpret clinical data, identify key findings and implications for stakeholders.
• Stay current on developments, literature, and guidelines to guide plans.

Job Summary

The medical director provides Clinical Development leadership and expertise on clinical trials, overseeing the design, conduct, and analysis within the PF 4404 program. Works with regulatory affairs, pharmacovigilance, biostatistics, and medical affairs to ensure scientific, ethical, and regulatory standards. Provides medical expertise to clinical operations, investigators, and external stakeholders.

Job Responsibilities

• Study-level Clinical Development Leadership:
  • Collaborate with Clinical Scientist(s) to provide clinical leadership across 2–3 study team(s) aligned to company objectives.
  • Conduct medical monitoring (eligibility assessment, data review, safety monitoring).
  • Lead peer-to-peer interactions with investigators.
  • Serve as point of contact for clinical issues between study team, investigators, ethics/steering committees, and regulatory authorities.
  • Lead and contribute to development and maintenance of clinical trial and regulatory documents with the cross-functional team.
• Strategic Guidance, Clinical Insights & Interpretation:
  • Review and interpret clinical data, identify key findings/implications, and communicate to internal/external stakeholders.
  • Stay current on developments, literature, and guidelines to advise and drive clinical development plans.

Basic Qualifications

• Primary medical degree (MD, DO, MBBS, MBChB) from a recognized institution and 4+ years of experience.
• Licensed to prescribe medicines independently for at least 2 years post intern/house officer/foundation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Late-stage clinical development experience.
• Thoracic experience.
• Board certified/eligible in oncology (or equivalent).

Work Requirements

• Travel to conferences/team meetings (~4 times/year).
• Hybrid: live within commuting distance; work on-site ~2.5 days/week.
