Job summary

Cytovale is seeking a Clinical Data Engineer within the Medical Affairs department to develop and manage data pipelines for daily and weekly EHR extracts, migrate data into data warehouses, and build dashboards to monitor IntelliSepsolution performance and its impact on patient outcomes and hospital reimbursement.

You will handle PHI under HIPAA, maintain code and data versioning, and support post-implementation data analysis for customers with strong analytical and cloud capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field.
• 3+ years of industry related experience, ideally working with EHR or clinical data.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain ELT/ETL pipelines for daily and weekly EHR data extracts.
• Migrate structured CSV data into databases/data warehouse/datalake to enable efficient querying.
• Develop dashboards to track performance and impact of the IntelliSepsolution on outcomes and reimbursements.
• Standardize tables and data artifacts toward a canonical data schema.
• Develop documentation and methodologies for infrastructure.
• Handle PHI and sensitive data per HIPAA and Cytovale policies with proper access controls.

Purpose

The Clinical Data Engineer will be an individual contributor to the Medical Affairs department. The role will encompassthe development andpipeline managementand curation ofclinical datasets for internal reports, external presentations,manuscriptsand publications, and to inform futureclinicaltrial design.

Responsibilities

• Develop andmaintainELT/ETLpipelines fordaily and weekly electronic health record(EHR) dataextracts.
• Migrate structuredCSVdata intodatabases/data warehouse/datalake to enable efficient querying
• Develop dashboards fortrackingthe performance and effectiveness of theIntelliSepsolution in improving clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, and financial performance andprovide insights into customer-related metrics and the potential impact on patient outcomes and hospital reimbursement.
• Standardizetablesanddata artifacts towardsa canonicaldataschema.
• Develop documentation and methodologies forinfrastructure.
• Handle protected health information (PHI) and other sensitive clinical datain accordance withHIPAA andCytovale'sdata privacy and security policies, ensuring data integrity, traceability, andappropriate accesscontrols throughout the data pipeline.
• Maintain version control for code and data.
• Support quality improvement activities for customers by building systems and tools for post-implementation data analysis

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree incomputer science,electrical engineering,or related field.
• 3+ yearsof industry related experience, ideally workingwithEHR orclinical data.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and present data effectively.
• Familiarity with AWS, GCP, Azure, or other cloud computing providers (AWS preferred); experience withdbt, or similar transformation tools, is a plus.
• Working knowledge of HIPAA and PHI-handling requirements, with experience implementing data privacy, security, and integrity controls in a healthcare or clinical data environment.
• Candidate must be able to function as an individual contributor withminimaldirect oversight.
• A passion for understanding complex issues with a data driven approach,experimentingand iterating ondifferent waysto solve a problem.
