Qualifications

• Up to one year of satisfactory work experience in hospitals, hotels and industrial janitorial cleaning.
• Ability to read, write and follow simple oral and written instructions in English.
• Willingness to tolerate unpleasant odors or sights.
• Good grooming and personal cleanliness; ability to wear prescribed attire.
• Meet physical demands: stand/walk most of day; lift up to 50 pounds; move furniture.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays and overtime as required.
• Knowledge of cleaning methods and use of floor machines and cleaning equipment.
• Background check, UCSF Occupational Health clearance and physical exam required.

Responsibilities

• Clean clinical settings including patient rooms, public areas and offices.
• Load/unload trash receptacles and transport recyclables.
• Refill soap and towel dispensers; report equipment and supply needs.
• Ensure security of assigned spaces and perform specialized cleaning in labs and medical spaces.
• Move, set up, and take down furniture and appliances as required.
