Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a Clinical Coordinator to support our Medical Assistants and oversee MA staff. You will ensure efficient patient flow, support staff satisfaction, and collaborate with Nursing Leadership and the Practice Manager to meet operational goals.

In this role you will supervise daily operations, participate in recruitment, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations. You may fill in as MA when needed and assist providers with exams and procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent with applicable college coursework or seminars in management and supervision.
• Prefer associate or bachelor’s degree in Management or Healthcare Administration.
• Successful completion of accredited MA program and MA externship/internship; EMT/Paramedic or athletic trainer credentials may be considered.
• Valid CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of assigned areas.
• Assist with recruitment, hiring, orientation, training and coaching of MA staff.
• Maintain scheduling and attendance for MA staff.
• Evaluate MA staff performance and handle promotions/discipline.
• FIll in as Medical Assistant when needed.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures and specimen collection.
• Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed.
• Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients.
• Provide patient/family education to support better health outcomes.
• Coordinate care and liaise between patients and providers.
• Support quality improvement and disease management programs.

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and motivated Clinical Coordinator to support our Medical Assistants in delivering exceptional patient care. In this role, you will oversee the medical assisting staff and other specified areas of the office in collaboration with office Nursing Leadership and the Practice Manager. This includes accountability for efficient patient/work flow, customer satisfaction, staff satisfaction, productivity and achievement of operational goals as defined by practice leadership.

What You’ll Do

General Requirements

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent with applicable college coursework or seminars in management and supervision. Prefer associate or bachelor’s degree in relevant field (Management, Healthcare Administration, etc)

Successful completions of accredited/approve MA program and MA externship, MA Internship; Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program; Paramedic program; or Certified Athletic Trainer.

If credentialed, maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs.

CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE

Valid CPR certification.

MA-Credentialed I

Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies:

• American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
• American Medical Technologists (RMA)
• National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
• National Healthcareer Association (CCMA)
• National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
• American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

5 years’ clinical experience with prior supervisory experience preferred.
