Job summary

The Clinical Coding and Compliance Auditor role at MaineHealth is responsible for the accurate assignment of ICD and CPT codes of diagnoses and procedures for outpatient medical records in multiple outpatient settings.

We seek RHIT/RHIA/CCS/CCA/CPC credentials and at least two years of multi-specialty coding experience, including CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS for professional charges. MaineHealth offers competitive benefits and professional growth opportunities.

  • Associate’s degree in a science field preferred and AHIMA or AAPC training recommended.
  • Two years of multi-specialty coding experience with CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS.
  • Experience coding E/Ms, Outpatient Hospital Clinics, OBV, ASU, Professional Surgical CPTs, EDs, cardiac procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately assign ICD and CPT codes for outpatient medical records across multiple settings.
  • Ensure coding complies with guidelines and auditing processes.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Education: Associate’s Degree in a science field preferred. Completion of an accredited program through AHIMA or AAPC preferred.
  • License/Certifications: RHIT, RHIA, CCS, CCA, CPC, CPC-H, or CIRCC credential preferred.
  • Experience: Two years of multi-specialty, preferably surgical coding experience, with CPT/ICD-10-CM/HCPCS/modifier coding for physician professional charges and a minimum of two years’ experience in an acute care facility as an ASU Clinical Coder required.
  • Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Experience coding E/M’s, Outpatient Hospital Clinics, OBV, ASU, Professional Surgical CPT’s, ED’s, cardiac cath/angiography, and simple visit coding required.

The pay range for this position is $61,256.00to $82,867.20per year.

Compensation for part‑time positions is determined on a prorated basis consistent with the scheduled hours and applicable full‑time equivalent (FTE).
