RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Clinical Care Technician (CCT) for the Surg Serv-Ortho/Neuro unit at Monmouth Medical Center. The role supports RNs with hands-on patient care, vital signs, and mobility, in a fast-paced surgical setting.

The position requires a High School Diploma/GED and a current BLS certification. CNA experience or clinical nursing program background is preferred; daily schedule is Mon-Fri 3:00pm-11:30pm with every other weekend and some holidays.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required with current BLS certification.
Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited program preferred.
CNA certificate acceptable.

Responsibilities

Assist with activities of daily living and basic nursing care, including vital signs and bedside care.
Monitor vital signs and document changes in electronic health records with confidentiality.
Apply infection-control protocols to maintain a safe patient environment.
Communicate with patients, families and healthcare providers to coordinate care.
Support emergency response with BLS skills and CPR when needed.
Care for patients appropriate to age and develop care plans with the nursing team.
Collaborate on patient plans from admission to discharge for safe transitions.

Clinical Care Technician (CCT) - Surg Serv-Ortho/Neuro T6E

As a Clinical Care Technician (CCT), you will be a vital part of our collaborative nursing team, supporting Registered Nurses in providing hands‑on care and helping create a safe, welcoming environment for patients. You'll assist with daily needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care, while helping RNs monitor conditions and carry out care plans. Your attention, empathy, and teamwork help restore comfort and dignity for every patient you serve and make our mission to improve lives a reality each day.

Todd 6 East: 21 unit beds, with 9 private rooms that all have continuous telemetry, pulse oximetry, and end tidal carbon monoxide monitoring. Specializes in management of a variety of pre and post surgical procedures including but not limited to orthopedic, neurosurgical, gynecological, and general surgery.

As a Clinical Care Technician (CCT), a typical day may include:

Assisting patients with activities of daily living and providing nursing care to patients including taking vital signs, EKGS, performing phlebotomy, assisting with bedside care, i.e. bathing, mouth care, skin care.
Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track patient health status.
Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to facility policies.
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and address concerns.
Support emergency response efforts by applying Basic Life Support (BLS) skills such as CPR when needed in acute situations.
Providing patient care, based on physical, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients.
Providing for effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgment and critical actions.
Ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding status of patient's care.
Participating in collaboration of our patient's plan of care from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning.

To be considered for this CCT opportunity, you must have a High School Diploma / GED and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program is preferred or a CNA certificate. This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 3pm to 11:30p.m. and includes every other weekend as well as some holidays.
