RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Clinical Care Technician for the Medical-Surgical Unit-I. The role supports RNs with hands-on care, vital signs, and daily living activities, ensuring a safe patient environment and accurate documentation in the EHR.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, current BLS certification, and preferred CNA or clinical experience. Night shift, 36 hours per week, with comprehensive benefits and an equal opportunity employer.

Qualifications

• Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience preferred.
• CNA certificate is a plus; ability to work night shift.

Responsibilities

• Take vital signs and perform basic nursing tasks.
• Assist with activities of daily living and bedside care.
• Monitor patient health and document in EHR.
• Assist with bathing, mouth care, skin care and mobility.
• Apply infection control protocols and support care plans.
• Provide safe, compassionate care and communicate with care team.
• Respond to emergencies using BLS skills when needed.
• Collaborate on patient plans from admission to discharge.

As a Clinical Care Technician (CCT), a typical day may include:

• Assisting patients with activities of daily living and providing nursing care to patients including taking vital signs, EKGS, performing phlebotomy, assisting with bedside care, i.e. bathing, mouth care, skin care.
• Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track patient health status
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality
• Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to facility policies
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and address concerns
• Support emergency response efforts by applying Basic Life Support (BLS) skills such as CPR when needed in acute situations
• Providing patient care, based on physical, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients
• Providing for effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgment and critical actions
• Ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding status of patient's care
• Participating in collaboration of our patient's plan of care from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning

To be considered for this CCT opportunity, you must have a High School Diploma / GED and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program is preferred or a CNA certificate. Includes some holidays.
