RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a part-time Clinical Care Technician for the Medical Surgical Unit V at RWJ New Brunswick. The role involves assisting with daily patient care, vital signs, and documentation in the EHR, while upholding infection control standards.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily living activities and provide nursing care including vital signs and basic procedures.
• Monitor vital signs and track patient health status.
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR).
• Implement infection control protocols to maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team.
• Support emergency response with Basic Life Support (BLS) skills as needed.
• Provide patient care appropriate to the patient’s age and condition.
• Collaborate on the patient’s plan of care from admission to discharge.

As a Clinical Care Technician (CCT), a typical day may include:

• Assisting patients with activities of daily living and providing nursing care to patients including taking vital signs, EKGS, performing phlebotomy, assisting with bedside care, i.e. bathing, mouth care, skin care.
• Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track patient health status
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality
• Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to facility policies
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and address concerns
• Support emergency response efforts by applying Basic Life Support (BLS) skills such as CPR when needed in acute situations
• Providing patient care, based on physical, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients
• Providing for effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgment and critical actions
• Ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding status of patient's care
• Participating in collaboration of our patient's plan of care from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning

To be considered for this CCT opportunity, you must have a High School Diploma / GED and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program is preferred or a CNA certificate. This position offers a 3 shift per week schedule (36 hours a week) from 7pm to 7:30a.m. and includes every other weekend as well as some holidays.
