Job summary

Clinical Care Technician (CCT) - Intensive Care Unit

As a Clinical Care Technician (CCT), you will be a vital part of our collaborative nursing team, supporting Registered Nurses in providing hands-on care and helping create a safe, welcoming environment for patients. You'll assist with daily needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care, while helping RNs monitor conditions and carry out care plans. The Intensive Care Unit( ICU) is a 12-bed critical care unit that provides comprehensive care for hemodynamically unstable patietns. The unit delivers advance, evidence base therapies including continuos renal replacement therapy (CRRT), intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) and Impella management and targeted temperature management (TTM). The ICU is a closed unit and is staffed by a multidisciplinary team with specialized critical care expertise to provide continuous monitoring and rapid intervention, and high quality, patient centered care for patients with complex medical and surgical needs.

As a Clinical Care Technician (CCT), a typical day may include:

• Assisting patients with activities of daily living and providing nursing care to patients including taking vital signs, EKGS, performing phlebotomy, assisting with bedside care, i.e. bathing, mouth care, skin care.
• Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track patient health status
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality
• Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to facility policies
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and address concerns
• Support emergency response efforts by applying Basic Life Support (BLS) skills such as CPR when needed in acute situations
• Providing patient care, based on physical, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients
• Providing for effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgment and critical actions
• Ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding status of patient's care
• Participating in collaboration of our patient's plan of care from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning
