Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Clinical Care Technician (CCT) for the Float Pool at Monmouth Medical Center. You will support Registered Nurses with hands-on care, including vital signs, mobility, and personal care, in a fast-paced nursing environment.

The role covers six areas with medical-surgical patients; prior acute care or telemetry experience is preferred. A High School Diploma, BLS, and CNA credentials strengthen candidacy, with potential involvement in ER/ICU duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in acute care or Med/Surg/Telemetry.
• High School Diploma or GED required; CNA or nursing program preferred.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist with vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy and bedside care (bathing, mouth care, skin care).
• Monitor vital signs: BP, pulse, respiration, temperature.
• Document patient information accurately in the EHR.
• Implement infection control protocols to ensure safety.
• Communicate with patients, families and providers to coordinate care plans.
• Support emergency response with BLS when needed in acute situations.
• Provide care appropriate to patient age and condition.
• Contribute to patient plan of care from admission to discharge.
• Maintain ongoing communication with patients and nursing staff.

Clinical Care Technician (CCT) – Float Pool

Float Pool covers six (6) different areas, census varies from 11 to 28 patients and provides direct care to primarily medical surgical patients which include specialties like orthopedic / neurosurgery, oncology, stroke and cardiac and other conditions requiring telemetry. Maybe assigned in the Emergency Department for Med/Surg Holds and ICU for Stepdown and Telemetry Downgrades “

Requires a minimum of 2 years of acute care or Med/surg / Telemetry unit experience with strong collaboration and communication skills

As a Clinical Care Technician (CCT), a typical day may include:

• Assisting patients with activities of daily living and providing nursing care to patients including taking vital signs, EKGS,performing phlebotomy, assisting with bedside care, i.e. bathing, mouth care, and skin care.
• Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature to track patient health status
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems while maintaining strict confidentiality
• Implement infection control protocols to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff, adhering to facility policies
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers to coordinate care plans and address concerns
• Support emergency response efforts by applying Basic Life Support (BLS) skills such as CPR when needed in acute situations
• Providing patient care, based on physical, education, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the age of the patients
• Providing for effective and safe patient outcomes through practice, judgment and critical actions
• Ongoing communication with patients and nursing colleagues regarding status of patient’s care
• Participating in collaboration of our patient's plan of care from admission to discharge to ensure safe transitioning

To be considered for this CCT opportunity, you must have a High School Diploma / GED and a current American Heart Association BLS certification. Previous nursing assistant experience or clinical experience from an accredited nursing program is preferred or a CNA certificate.
