St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Kentucky is seeking a Clinical Care Technician for the Emergency Department. The role is PRN with flexible hours, supporting RN-led patient care and assisting with tests, transports, and basic procedures.

You will perform vital signs, EKGs, specimen collection, and assist with lifts; participate in code team responses and ensure a safe environment for patients under nursing supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• BLS Certification required.
• Ability to perform vital signs and basic patient assessments.
• Knowledge of body mechanics and safe patient handling.

Responsibilities

• Collect basic laboratory specimens and troponins; collect alcohol specimens and perform EKGs and two-hour troponins.
• Transport patients to testing as needed.
• Perform CPR on full arrests as part of the code team.
• Follow all policies in specimen collection and EKG performance.
• Assist nursing staff with patient care needs and maintain a clean, safe environment.

Job Summary:

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Clinical Care Technician for our Emergency Department located within the Grant Hospital.

Shift/Hours: PRN, Any

Job Description:

The Clinical Care Technician provides direct and indirect patient care to support a unit or facility as directed by a Registered Nurse (RN).

• Participates as a member of the patient care delivery team by collection of basic laboratory specimens and two hour troponins, collects legal alcohol specimens, performs EKG's and 2 hour EKG's with troponins, assists with lifting and transporting, performs vital signs, clean and bandage wounds, splinting to fractures and other duties as delegated by the nursing staff within scope of training.
• Transport patients to testing.
• Perform CPR on full arrests as members of the code team.
• Follows all policies and procedures in the collection of laboratory samples and in the performance of EKG's, in an accurate and timely fashion.
• Assists nursing staff in addressing patient care needs, rounding frequently and ensuring that environment is conducive to care.

Education, Credentials, Licenses:

• Highschool Diploma / GED
• BLS Certification

Specialized Knowledge:

• Ability to perform such tasks as vital signs
• Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics
