Job summary

Illinois Bone & Joint Institute in Park Ridge, IL, seeks a Clinical Athletic Trainer to support orthopedic care teams across patient assessment, treatment planning, and rehabilitation. You will educate patients, assist with procedures, and coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and staff to ensure efficient workflows.

The role requires BOC certification, state licensure eligibility, and a CAATE-accredited degree, with preferred master's in related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a CAATE-accredited Athletic Training Program is required.
• Master's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Exercise Science, or related healthcare field preferred.
• BOC Certified Athletic Trainer required.
• Current State Athletic Training License or eligibility for licensure required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required.
• Experience in orthopedic, sports medicine settings preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records and clinical documentation preferred.
• Experience with durable medical equipment fitting and patient education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document comprehensive patient histories and perform musculoskeletal evaluations.
• Assist physicians with examinations, treatment planning, and follow-up care.
• Prepare patients for procedures and assist during injections.
• Provide post-operative care and education.
• Educate patients on DME, braces, orthotics, and assistive devices.
• Coordinate patient care across physicians, therapists, imaging, and staff.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation in accordance with policies.
• Mentor athletic training students and participate in education.

Education

Bachelor's degree from a CAATE-accredited Athletic Training Program
