Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health (BILH) is seeking a Clinical Associate at Winchester Hospital, a 223-bed regional facility in the northwest Boston area. Schedule includes 3 evening shifts per week, with every other weekend and holiday rotations, under the direction of a nurse to support patient care, safety and comfort.

Education requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent, and BLS certification is required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively in English with patients and staff.
• Basic computer skills are preferred.
• Prior healthcare exposure is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with activities of daily living.
• Reposition patients and assist with ambulation.
• Make occupied and unoccupied beds.
• Transport patients, beds, supplies and equipment.
• Collect, label and transport specimens.
• Retrieve and sign out blood products.
• Perform point-of-care testing.
• Obtain vital signs and weights.
• Maintain intake/output measurements.
• Remove Foley catheters and saline locks.

Job Description:

Winchester Hospital is a 5x Magnet designated, Top 10 Massachusetts recognized 223-bed regional hospital that is the leading provider of comprehensive health care services in the northwest suburban Boston area. Schedule: 3, 8 hour evening shifts/week, every other weekend and holiday rotations. Working under the direction of a nurse, the Clinical Associate contributes to the Hospital’s mission by performing basic procedures necessary to provide patients’ care, comfort, and safety. This clinical staff position will have an impact on the quality of care and patient satisfaction by providing for their physical and emotional needs.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting with activities of daily living
• Repositioning and ambulating patients
• Making an occupied and unoccupied bed
• Assisting in transporting patients, beds, supplies and equipment
• Collecting, labeling and transporting specimens
• Retrieving and signing out blood products
• Accurately performs point of care testing
• Obtains vital signs and weights
• Maintains accurate intake and output measurements
• Removes Foley catheters and saline locks

Education Required:

High school diploma/equivalent is strongly preferred

Certifications:

BLS – Basic Life Support

Must have/be one of the following:

• Certified Nursing AssistantNursing Student with completion of one medical-surgical clinical rotationThree months of clinical care experienceSuccessful completion of the Winchester Hospital: Clinical Associate Training Program (CATP)

Other Skills/Knowledge:

Pay Range:

$19.50 - $26.24

The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
