Position Overview
Full‑time Clinical Associate – Evening/Night shifts (United States). Work at 1 Health Cir, Lexington. Sign‑on bonus eligible: $3,000 per applicable guidelines (external hires only).
Key Responsibilities
- Perform clinical and clerical support under direction of licensed staff, physician or mid‑level practitioner, including basic technical clinical services, patient care, cleanliness, safety and comfort.
- Provide basic nursing care, monitor patient status and assist with routine procedures, as permitted by competency and training.
- Support the team by updating patient demographics, answering phones, scheduling appointments, relaying messages and processing refill requests.
- Assist with referrals, authorizations, pre‑authorizations and coordinate patient flow through software and intranet systems.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in waiting and break rooms, perform safety/environmental rounds and ensure regulatory compliance (e.g., refrigerator, code cart, glucose meters).
- Process equipment and supplies between patients, operate general office equipment and maintain equipment inventory.
- Support admissions, transfers and discharges as appropriate, and manage patient transport as required.
- Act as the “face” of the unit, demonstrating professional appearance, excellent telephone etiquette and patient‑centered service.
- Serve as a resource for unit software systems and provide clerical support to the health‑care team.
- Monitor and interpret EKG rhythms when assigned as a monitor technician and report significant arrhythmias.
Clinical Functions and Competencies
- Nursing Assistant: Transport patients, transport specimens and equipment, perform basic nursing care, and apply advanced clinical skills as needed.
- Monitor Technician: Observe cardiac monitors, document rhythm patterns, report arrhythmias, complete monitoring documentation and train new staff.
- Phlebotomy (when certified): Collect venous, finger or heel specimens, verify orders, prepare specimens for laboratory.
- Monitor and interpret EKG rhythms, support transport algorithms, and manage patient safety during transport.
Required Education and Experience
High school graduate or equivalent. Must meet specialty licensure, certification and registration requirements, including:
- Certified Nursing Assistant (N.A.) for critical access areas or as required.
- Completion of Monitor Technician courses for monitored areas.
- Completion of phlebotomy and sheath courses for areas requiring those skills.
- AHA BLS‑HCP certification.
Minimum Qualifications
- Effective interpersonal, communication and team‑working skills.
- Organized, self‑motivated, with knowledge of office procedures and equipment.
- Ability to process and document patient assessment data (height, weight, vital signs, chief complaint, current medications, etc.).
- Competence in electronic medical record (EMR) use, chart auditing and software systems.
