Job description

The Clinical Assistant is responsible for providing patient care in the clinic and related administrative duties.

This is a full-time position working M-F with varied shifts including 8:00 am-12:00 pm, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, & 8:00 am - 8:00 pm out of our Waconia and Chaska locations.

Twin Cities Orthopedics is an operating division of Infinite Health Collaborative (i-Health), a group of local medical practices owned and led by physicians, with a mission to give patients more control over their healthcare.

Essential Functions:
  • Prepare, stock, and clean exam room
  • Room patients and prepare for exam
  • Maintain an efficient, organized clinical flow
  • Gather and verify pertinent patient information; compile patient medical data
  • Assist with documentation of patient data into electronic health records system
  • Prep for injections, change dressings, apply durable medical equipment, and remove sutures/staples under provider direction
  • Application and removal of casts
  • Ensure coding requirements are followed during entry of patient information
  • Act as a prescribing delegate to enter medical orders (medications, labs, imaging, etc.) under provider supervision
  • Able to support multiple specialties
  • Assist Care Coordinator with patient care services
  • Assist with medical supply inventory and ordering
  • Screen patient calls and respond promptly; document all messages in electronic chart
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent required
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Athletic Trainer (AT-C), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA); or equivalent experience preferred
  • Understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology required
  • Knowledge of diagnostic procedures, pharmacology, and treatment assessments preferred

  • Starting pay varies based on education, skills, and experience
  • A $1,500 sign-on bonus is offered, payable on first paycheck with a 12-month commitment; internal applicants are not eligible

Essential Requirements:
  • Complete the Certified Provider Order Entry (CPOE) upon hire if necessary
  • Comply with policies, procedures, and ethical guidelines
  • Complete required training
  • Follow all applicable laws (HIPAA, Stark, OSHA, etc.)
  • Maintain prompt and reliable attendance
  • Work during clinic hours and travel as needed within the clinic
  • Handle physical activities such as bending, lifting, standing, sitting
  • Work efficiently, handle interruptions, meet deadlines
  • Communicate professionally and respectfully
  • Prioritize tasks and be flexible
  • Apply logical thinking to problems
  • Follow instructions and operate equipment effectively
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Travel to other locations if required
