Description

This faculty hire will be responsible for teaching the psychiatric/mental health nursing course in both the BSN and MSN programs. Full-time faculty are expected to contribute to didactic, clinical, and simulation-based teaching as appropriate. This person will be expected to implement evidenced-based teaching strategies, evaluate student learning and clinical performance using competency based assessment methods, mentor students via student office hours and maintain currency in nursing practice. Faculty members are expected to participate in curricular improvement, contribute to program assessment and accreditation activities. Candidates will also be expected to be involved in service to the department and the college community.

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have a minimum of a MSN degree and current experience in mental health nursing. Ideally the candidate will have or be pursuing a doctoral degree in nursing. Preference will be given to candidates who are psychiatric nurse practitioners. The candidate must have a current unencumbered registered nurse license in Indiana or eligibility to obtain Indiana licensure prior to the start of employment. The candidate must have a minimum of three years of professional nursing experience in the field of psychiatric mental health nursing in a clinical setting.
