Job summary

Brookwood Baptist Health in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Clinical Assistant Nurse Manager (CANM) for the Day shift in the Coronary Care Unit. The CANM will lead shift operations to ensure high-quality care, optimal patient flow, and excellent customer experience in a high-acuity setting.

The role involves staffing, coordination with Nursing Operations leadership, and ensuring compliance with policies while supporting frontline staff and patient families.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing. BSN preferred.
• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Alabama or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• A minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse.

Position Summary

Baptist Health Brookwood is looking for aClinical Assistant Nurse Manager (CANM)to work full-time covering our Day shift for our Coronary Care Unit. The CANM is responsible for leading the shift operations within the clinical setting to ensure delivery of high-quality care, exceptional customer experience, and optimal patient flow. In conjunction with the Department Nursing Operations Manager and the Assistant Nursing Operations Manager (ANOM); the CANM provides guidance, fosters collaboration, and is responsible for the unit’s clinical operations including patient care assignments, customer experience, productivity, and quality outcomes in settings where patients have an advanced illness or injury that routinely requires timely, intense, and complex care to stabilize and support the patient’s medical condition. These areas require a lower caregiver-to-patient ratio and highly trained team members with advanced skills.

Qualifications

Education/Training

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) preferred.

Licensure/Certification

• Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Alabama or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• May require advanced certifications based on the assigned patient population.
