Job summary

ConnextCare is seeking a Medical Assistant/Nursing Assistant to support clinical operations in our New York clinic. You will assist with rooming patients, chart documentation, vital signs, and following provider orders within an EMR system.

The role involves preparing for treatments, maintaining supplies, and supporting quality checks and audits. Excellent patient care, discretion, and teamwork are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Graduate of CMA or CNA program is required or preferred.
• Certification as CMA or CNA is preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Assist with rooming patients and recording vital signs.
• Document in electronic medical records and follow provider orders.
• Assist with preparation for treatments and procedures without giving meds.
• Maintain clinical supplies and cleanliness of the work area.
• Perform CLIA lab controls and conduct quality checks as scheduled.
• Assist with regulatory audits as requested.
• Schedule patient appointments according to guidelines.
• Engage in Patient Centered Medical Home initiatives as part of the care team.
• Perform other clinical duties as requested by management.

Description

Basic Function:

To assist in the provision of quality health care. Provide clerical support to the unit. Assists with clinical procedures as required.

Principal Accountabilities:

1. Assist clinical support with rooming patients, electronic chart documentation, recording vital signs, follow up on provider orders, phlebotomy
2. Assist with preparation for treatments and procedures without medication administration
3. Assist in maintaining clinical supplies and cleanliness of work area
4. Perform CLIA lab controls and quality checks according to policy schedule
5. Assist with regulatory audits as requested
6. Schedule patient appointments according to guidelines
7. To engage in Patient Centered Medical Home initiatives, including participating as part of the Clinical Care Team
8. Any other clinical duties and responsibilities as requested by management and supervision

Requirements

High school diploma or GED

Graduate of a certified Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant Program

Certification as CMA or CNA preferred

Must demonstrate computer proficiency with Microsoft Suite and electronic medical record system

Must possess a willingness to accept direction from providers and supervisors

Must possess the ability to work well and with compassion in stressful situations

Must maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with both patients and co-workers

Must be keenly aware of the importance of confidentiality in all aspects of the position
