To assist with the management of the inter‑lab operations, as they pertain to test execution, proficiency testing, resulting, and bench‑side staff oversight for the UTHealth RGV Clinical Laboratory. Oversee quality assurance and maintenance parameters for all equipment within the clinical laboratory.
Needs to be able to successfully perform all required duties. Office/Clinical Laboratory Environment; some travel and weekend work is required. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. UTRGV is a distributed institution, which requires presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley.
Strong command of the technical aspects of diagnostic testing equipment and troubleshooting. Tact, diplomacy, discretion, and confidentiality of medical information required in all matters. Possible exposure to combustible materials. Possible exposure to blood‑borne pathogens. Knowledge of applicable health care laws and regulations. Ability to provide patient care, to prepare and maintain records. Extreme accuracy in following written and verbal directives and in the dissemination and application of technical information. Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations, including HIPAA and IRB policies and procedures.
