Job summary

Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster is seeking a Clinical Assistant to join our clinical team. We are hiring for Licensed Practical Nurse, Certified Medical Assistant, Radiologic Technologist, or Athletic Trainer to support patient care across our five locations.

The role includes patient intake, vitals, exam prep, radiographic imaging, and assisting physicians in the exam room. This full-time position features a weekday schedule with 5-hour and 10-hour shifts from 6:45am to 6:00pm, a shift

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid CPR certification required.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients to the practice and ensures records are ready for appointment.
• Prepares patients for examination and assists the physician in the exam room.
• Acquires vitals and documents in EMR accurately.
• Assists with injections and supplies using sterile technique.
• Applies durable medical equipment (DME) as needed.
• Obtains radiographic images following ALARA under licensure when required.

Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster is a leader in orthopedic care with five locations across Lancaster and Lebanon counties. We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse, Certified Medical Assistant, Radiologic Technologist, or Athletic Trainer to join our clinical team as a Clinical Assistant.

Schedule/Work Environment:

• Full Time
• Weekdays 5-hour and 10-hour shifts between 6:45am-6:00pm
• Employees receive a shift differential for time worked in the evenings past 5:30pm and any time on the weekends.
• No Call

Job Description/Duties:

• Welcome Patients to the practice
• Ensure all related reports, labs and information are filed and available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment
• Prepares patients for examination, including suture/staple removal
• Acquire vitals and accurately document in EMR
• Interview patient for allergies, medications, and history
• Assist the physician in the exam room
• Prepare Injections/supplies using sterile technique
• Apply Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
• Provide patient education for care after visit
• Maintain equipment and stock exam rooms
• Assist with patient check-out
• Provides patients with accurate information when answering questions and concerns
• Complete referrals accurately and appropriately
• Acquire radiographic images using ALARA when licensed according to state regulation

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid CPR certification is required.
• Valid Driver's license is required.
• Excellent customer service skills are required.
• Currently active certification is required in one of the following:
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• Athletic Trainer (ATC)

Preferred Qualifications:

• The ideal candidate will be currently enrolled in a degreed program preferably in the healthcare field.
• Experience using a computer is strongly preferred and being comfortable with learning new technologies.
• Strong organization skills.
• Demonstrates strong verbal and written communication.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements.
• Time management skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
