Job summary

ADP, Inc. is seeking a Clinical Assistant in Christiansted, VI to support research projects under the Manager’s supervision.

Responsibilities include literature searches, questionnaire design, data collection and management, quality control, and assisting with reporting and participant coordination. The role emphasizes strong interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to handle sensitive questions, and flexibility to work some evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

  • Two years of related work experience and in good standing in academic program leading to undergraduate degree in relevant field of study; or little or no work experience and a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and in good standing in academic program leading to graduate degree in relevant field of study; or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately and properly handles study data
  • Follows supervisor’s directions as indicated by the SOP in the recording of data
  • Locates appropriate paperwork efficiently
  • Consistently writes in a legible manner
  • Organizes and updates binder as needed
  • Demonstrates ability to efficiently and effectively organize material
  • Updates appropriate binder data/information on a daily basis
  • Greets and welcomes study participants
  • Verifies accuracy of information the study participant gave to the recruiting office during the screening process
  • Demonstrates ability to put study participant(s) at ease, even when asking delicate or sensitive questions
  • Uses simple language to explain steps of the specific test protocol and confirms the panelist’s understanding
  • Provides study participants with directions to the appropriate testing site
  • Exhibits ability to synthesize study participants’ information and ask pertinent follow up questions
  • Schedules required study participant(s) follow up visits and explains the importance of continued participation
  • Obtains approved informed consent, medical histories, and demographic information from potential volunteers
  • Answers questions, reviews protocol, and works closely with the screening coordinator, recruitment and regulatory department.
  • Asks for clarification and assistance as needed
  • Performs other tasks, as assigned.

Description Summary

Under the supervision of the Manager, the clinical assistant may participate in the following: preliminary literature searches; identification of population to be surveyed; questionnaire design; collection, compilation and management of data/information; quality assurance and quality control; analysis by statistical or other means; generation/production of new data/information; editing and formatting of reports. In a larger, more complex project, employees may be involved in only one or several aspects of the research. Most employees have limited involvement in research design; however, they are expected to use considerable judgment and research skills in performing their work assignments. Work may include the training and supervision of staff, students and others.
